Need the words out of an e-mail without opening your mail client? This page extracts the text of an EML message into a .txt file you can read, search, or paste anywhere.
How to extract text from an EML file
- Upload an
.emlmessage (up to 40 MB). - No options needed — press Convert file.
- Download the resulting
.txtfile.
What you get
A UTF-8 text file with the message: the From, To, Cc, Subject, and Date headers at the top, followed by the message text. The conversion runs on a server in this browser session, so you can drop a saved e-mail and grab its contents as plain text.
When this helps
- Pulling text out of saved e-mails to paste into a document or ticket.
- Searching old messages in a text-friendly way.
- Moving message content from one tool to another without a mail client.
This extracts the message as text — it is not a full mail viewer, and attachments are not unpacked separately.
