What kinds of attachments can I extract from a MOV?

MOV / QuickTime files can embed attached pictures, usually the cover art of the movie. This page pulls those pictures out as downloadable image files.

What if my MOV has no attachments?

If there is nothing attached, the extraction reports that nothing was found. You do not get a placeholder file.

Are the extracted pictures re-encoded?

No. The attached image is stream-copied out byte-for-byte, so you get the exact cover art that was embedded — never a re-rendered substitute.

Extract attachments from a MOV file online

What you get

A single image file (cover.png) holding the picture that was embedded in the MOV. If the embedded picture is a JPEG, the bytes are copied out unchanged (the file is served with the matching image type).

Limits

One input MOV, up to 80 MB.
The extracted image can be up to 8 MB.
A MOV with no attached picture has nothing to extract, so the run reports a failure instead of inventing an output.
